DJST Required Sailing Gear

All junior sailors are required to have the following:

Approved Coast Guard Life Jacket Level III

Storm whistle

T-shirt

Water shoes (preferred) or Teva-type sandals

Sunscreen, applied before the sailor leaves home

Bailer, can be cut out of a laundry bottle

Hat (optional)

Sunglasses, optional

Water bottle, optional

Towel, optional (necessary on first day for the swim test)

Remember to have all items clearly marked with the sailor’s name or boat name.
